Large School Camp Section Leaders

Leigh Ann McClure, Soprano

The child of two music educators, Leigh Ann McClure has been the Head Choral Director of the Central High School Choral Music Department in Keller ISD for 17 years. The CHS Choral Department consists of over 300 students, 3 directors, eight concert choirs, and two show choirs. Ms. McClure previously taught in the Arlington, Cleburne, and Alvarado ISDs. She received the BME degree from Baylor University and MME from The University of North Texas.

In addition to having numerous TMEA All-State Choir members, she teaches several all-state camps each year and is an active adjudicator, clinician, and honor choir conductor. Ms. McClure has served the Texas Choral Directors’ Association as Secretary; the Texas Music Educators’ Association Vocal Division as Region Secretary, MS/JHS Region Coordinator, Region and Area Chair, 2012 and 2013 All-State Women’s Choir Organizer, and is currently Area B Division Mentorship Chair; and the Texas Music Adjudicators’ Association as Vocal Vice-President. In 2013, she was a recipient of the Texas University Scholarship League “Sponsor of Excellence” award.

McClure is particularly proud of the Keller Central Chamber Women.
This ensemble is honored to have been selected as one of twelve choirs to perform at the 2024 Texas Music Educators’ Convention in San Antonio. In 2021, this treble choir was named the winner of the inaugural “America’s Got Choirs” contest and in 2022 was awarded “Best Live Performance” by the judges in that competition. In the spring of 2022, they were honored to perform in concert at Baylor University alongside the widely regarded Bella Voce women’s ensemble. The Chamber Women were then named “Outstanding Treble Choir” in both 2022 and 2023 at the prestigious Festival Di Voce choral competition held at Dallas Baptist University and in 2023, the Chamber Women were named “Reserve Grand Champion” at Festival di Voce as well. Most recently, the ensemble was named a National Winner in the 2023 Mark of Excellence/National Choral Honors project sponsored by The Foundation for Music Education.

In addition to directing this ensemble, she also conducts the Chamber Singers Mixed Choir, Scarlet Singers treble choir, and is the co-director of the Voices of Central Show Choir.

In her spare time she enjoys playing golf, traveling, and spending time with her adult children and their spouses as well as her four adorable grandsons. She also enjoys singing and playing handbells at Keller United Methodist Church, where her sweetheart, Carl Lorey, is Director of Music and Worship.

Dawn Sheridan-Reinhuber, Alto

Dawn Sheridan-Reinhuber began singing in Northside ISD under the direction of Judy Stephenson (Marshall HS) and David Dyer (Taft HS). She received her Bachelors of Music in Vocal Performance at Rice University where she studied with voice teacher Virginia Babikian, and Vocal Coach and Choral Director, Thomas Jaber. After completing her undergrad, Dawn moved to Frankfurt, Germany, with her husband (and pianist) Joachim Reinhuber, where she did graduate work in Vocal Performance at the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst in Frankfurt am Main. She worked in the Städtische Musikschule Aschaffenburg for 14 years teaching voice, chamber music, and directed several vocal ensembles. After having had 3 beautiful children, Daniel, Noah, and Emma- her family moved back to Texas in 2006, where she began her career as a full time choir director. The choirs at San Marcos HS are consistent Sweepstakes winners and have repeatedly had students place in the Texas All-State Choirs. Mrs. Sheridan received her Master of Music in Choral Conducting from Texas State University in 2017, and is starting her 32nd year of teaching in the fall of 2024. She has 3 sweet doggos- Bailey, Chloe, and Jamie.

Spencer Wiley, Bass

Spencer Wiley has been the head choir director at Harker Heights High School in Killeen ISD for five years.  With a focus on singing a variety of styles of choral music, choirs under his direction have received recognition not only at UIL Concert & Sight-Reading contests, but also at contemporary a cappella contests such as the International Championship of High School A Cappella (ICHSA) and Aca-Tex Vocal Festival. The varsity mixed choir from Harker Heights High School was also selected as an invited ensemble to perform at the 2024 Texas Music Educators Association Convention. Mr. Wiley has served as a TMEA invited clinician for regions 9, 10, 19, 26, and 32 and is a frequent adjudicator for UIL Concert & Sight-Reading contest around the state of Texas.

Megan Senter, Small School Soprano Section Leader

Megan Senter is a native Oklahoman, graduating Magna Cum Laude from Oklahoma City University in 1992 with a Bachelor’s of Music Education. Mrs. Senter has taught all levels of music in Oklahoma and Texas. She is currently the director at Sunnyvale High School, where she began the program in 2008. Her choirs consistently earn Sweepstakes at UIL and Superior Ratings and local and national festivals. Sunnyvale High School has had TMEA All State Singers since 2014. Mrs. Senter serves as clinician, accompanist, and adjudicator for numerous school districts during UIL and Solo & Ensemble. Mrs. Senter is a member of TMEA, TCDA, ACDA, TMAA, and TFMC. She is currently serving as the TMEA Region 3 Small School Choir Coordinator. Mrs. Senter resides in Rockwall with her husband, Mike, and son, Preston. The Senters are Worship leaders for North Mesquite Baptist Church. She enjoys movies, karaoke, and baseball in her spare time.

Bryce Gage, Alto

Bryce Gage is currently the head director at Marble Falls High School Choir in Marble Falls, Texas. Mr. Gage has been leading the choral department of MFISD since 2006 and has grown the program from 19 students to over 200 at the high school. MFHS is a 4A high school in the state of Texas with little over 1125 students. Under the direction of Mr. Gage, the choir has performed in St. John the Divine in NYC, the National Cathedral of Washington DC, Coventry Cathedral of London, the dome in Salzburg, St. Paul's Chapel of New York City, and the Vatican in Rome. His choirs consistently win Sweepstakes in UIL competitions and were invited to perform at the White House in 2008. The students consistently receive superior ratings at Solo and Ensemble contest and are consistent nominees for the Heller Musical Theatre Awards, a regional competition for the National Musical Theatre Awards, with winners in Best Actor, Best Supporting Actress and Best Musical Direction. Students under Bryce’s direction have found success in the TMEA All-State process with many placements in the Region Choir and the All-State Choir. Mr. Gage has presented sessions at TMEA on recruitment and retention as well as provided professional development in Lewisville ISD and Edinburg ISD on these same topics. He has conducted region choirs across Texas and Oklahoma.

Mr. Gage has an extensive background in musical theatre and opera and transfers that to his students through the musical productions of the Department. He attended college at Oklahoma Christian University and received his Bachelors degree in music from the University of North Texas in Denton, Texas. Making his Carnegie Hall debut in 2004 as the tenor soloist in Beethoven’s Mass in C was a highlight of his performing career. Mr. Gage is currently pursuing his Masters in Educational Administration from Lamar University in Houston, Texas. He grew up in Colbert, Oklahoma. He has been a soloist with Richardson Symphony, Fort Worth Symphony, Oklahoma City Orchestra, and many regional orchestras. He himself has directed 20+ musicals including Tarzan, My Fair Lady, Music Man, Fiddler on the Roof, Seussical, Grease, Godspell, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Cinderella, Oklahoma, Bright Star, Tuck Everlasting, Chaplin, Wizard of OZ and many others. He has been chosen as a Legacy teacher of the Marble Falls ISD in recent years and you might have also seen him on national tv as he was a contestant on DEAL OR NO DEAL with Howie Mandel in 2019. Mr. Gage resides in Marble Falls with his wife, Shannon, and their daughters, McKayla and Jennie Lynn.

Dr. Joey Martin, Director of Choral Activities, TXST

Joey M. Martin is a musician regarded for his diverse musical interests, engaging artistry, and passionate enthusiasm for the choral art.  Throughout his time at Texas State University (TXST), Dr. Martin has served in several positions including associate dean for the College of Fine Arts and Communication and interim director for the School of Music.  He continues in his commitment to service as the director of choral activities and associate director for advancement.   

Distinctions include recognition as a Favorite Professor, recipient of the Presidential Distinction Awards for both Teaching and Service, and the Choral Advocacy Award from the Texas Choral Directors Association. During his time at Texas State, he has directed four of the six university vocal ensembles. Highlights from his time with TXST vocal ensembles include engagements throughout much of Europe, South Africa, and China with performances for numerous conferences, including TMEA, SWACDA, ACDA, and the International Kodály Festival. 

Dr. Martin has served as the artistic director for the San Antonio-based Alamo City Men’s Chorale and with Craig Hella Johnson on the creative team for the Victoria Bach Festival. His scholarly/creative activities span twenty-seven of the United States and fifteen countries on six continents, including many western European countries, China, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, and Brazil. He continues in his eighteenth year as the artistic director and conductor for Honor Choir USA in Honolulu, Hawai’i, as he shares the ‘aloha spirit’ with exceptional young musicians from the mainland. 

As coach/accompanist, he enjoys collaborating with vocal and instrumental artists and has performed with several distinguished artists including vocalists Jennie Olson, Maria Jette, Timothy Jones, Soon Cho, Daveda Karanas, Richard Novak, and Sarah Tucker and with chamber musicians Ames Asbel (viola), and Karla Hamelin (‘cello). 

Dr. Martin received his DMA in choral conducting from the University of Texas in Austin where he was recognized as the Outstanding Graduate Student for the School of Music while studying with Craig Hella Johnson (conducting), Betty Mallard (piano), and Martha Deatheridge (voice).  He is a graduate of the Harvard School of Education Management Development Program, was recently selected to participate in the second cohort of the Texas Academic Leadership Academy, and is a member of the Roster of Fulbright Specialists.  In his spare time, he dreams of culinary school. 

Dr. Thomas J. Rinn, Director of Choral Music Education

Thomas Rinn currently serves as an Assistant Professor of Choral Music Education at Texas State University where he teaches courses in music education, is director of the Aurora Voce Treble Choir, and leads the Hill Country Youth Chorus. Dr. Rinn completed his PhD in Music Education at the University of North Texas where he served as a teaching fellow conducting the UNT Chorale (Tenor-Bass Chorus) and taught courses in music education and choral conducting. He holds a Master of Music Education from Florida State University and a Bachelor of Music from the University of Texas at San Antonio. He taught high school in Texas for twenty years in the San Antonio, Houston, and Dallas-Fort Worth areas. In addition, Mr. Rinn has served as director of the Houston Boychoir Chamber Choir and in various church positions throughout his career. Choirs under Rinn's direction have been honored with invitations to perform for the Texas Music Educators Association in 2010 (Juan Seguin High School Chamber Choir), 2018 (Colleyville Heritage Panther Chorale), and for the 2018 Southwest American Choral Directors Association (CHHS Panther Chorale). 

Rinn is a frequent choral clinician, guest conductor, adjudicator, and presenter of teacher training nationwide. His research interests include music teacher preparation, psychological factors in music education, and social media in music education. Recent and upcoming conference presentations include the NAfME National Conference, SMTE National Conference, ACDA Symposium for Research in Choral Singing, the Desert Skies Symposium on Research in Music Learning and Teaching, the American Choral Directors Association National Conference, and the Texas Music Educators Association annual conference. Rinn has recent publications in Update: Applications of Research in Music Education and the Journal of Research in Music Education. 

Dr. Rinn happily strives to give back to our professional organizations. He has served as President of the Texas Choral Directors Association, High School Vice-President for the Texas Choral Directors Association, a TMEA Region Vocal Chair, a member of the ACDA COVID-19 Response Team, a section leader for the Texas All-State Choir, and currently serves as Chair of the State UIL Vocal Sight-Reading Committee.
